Home From the Holidays!

I'm home! I got home from the cabin on Saturday afternoon. I would have written a blog then, but I had laundry to do, and I had to make sure my room was clean for when my cousin came.

We picked her up yesterday at noon. :D I am really glad that she is here. Hopefully, when she leaves this time I'll be able to see her sooner then before.

Christmas

How was everybody's Christmas? Mine was really good.

We opened presents in the morning.

I got:

From "Santa" I got a box of chocolate covered cherries and a cell phone holder in the shape of a black high heel shoe! :D

From mom and dad I got a pair of pjs, a Teddy Bear (All proceeds went to the Stollary Children Hospital*) and a pair of polka dot slippers.

From my dad I got a make-up kit. It has 36 choices of eyeshadow, 2 eyeliners, 2 lip liners, 2 mascaras, 4 lip glosses, 1 blush, and 8 nail polishes.

From my grandma I got a broach and some cash.

We didn't have the traditional turkey dinner. We had ham, scalloped potatoes and honey glazed carrots. :D I helped my mom cook the meal and some family friends that were also spending Christmas at their cabin came over for supper.

Other then that we spent the day playing board games. One of the best Christmases since I turned 17. :D (I'm 19 now btw)

We are going back out to the cabin for New Year's. And my cousin is coming as well so we should have a good time.

The Weather

The weather hasn't been that bad it was actually starting to warm up except today it has been snowing. :( Thankfully, me and my cousin got back to my house before it started to snow. (We went shopping. And no I didn't get anymore purses :D )

Oilers

I can't believe it! They actually won against the Nashville Predators! I guess a little holiday actually helped them! :D Hopefully, they can keep this up!

Joke of the day

An older blond woman heard through a friend that taking a milk bath is good for the skin, will cure stretch marks and make her beautiful again. So she left a note for her milkman to leave 15 gallons of milk instead of the usual amount.

When the milkman arrived, and read the note, he felt there must be a mistake. He thought she probably meant 1.5 gallons so he knocked on her door to clarify the point. The woman came to the door, and the milkman said, “Yes ma’am, I found your note to leave 15 gallons of milk. Did you mean 1.5 gallons?”

The blond said, “I want 15 gallons. I’m going to fill my bathtub up with milk and take a milk bath.”

The milkman asked, “Do you want it Pasteurized?”

The blonde replied, “Nope, just up to my boobs, I can splash it in my eyes.”

Hope you have a Happy New Year! This will probably be my last blog of the year so I will talk to guys in 2009! :D

Guest Packages and Dirty Dancing

Today I took my grandma shopping at Wal-Mart!

I am having company for the week of New Year's so I was putting together a package together for their stay. I got this from (who I think is) the best hostess: Samantha (Samhouse). :D Anytime, that I used to visit her here in Alberta she always had a nice little care package for me (or any other guest).

Guest Package:

In a small-medium basket put- (If a couple put two of everything)

1 Large Bathtowel
1 Medium Bathtowel (for hair)
1 Hand towel
1 Face Cloth
1 Bar of soap (your choice)
1 Purse Size lotion (your choice)

Tie with nice ribbon and place in basket. Place the basket on the end of a freshly made bed on a tray with a vase of real or artificle flowers. So I did just that and I made the fold out couch in the basement for her a few minutes ago since I won't be back to the house until we come home from the bus stop with her! :D

Have fun this Christmas with the packages, make them Christmas themed! :D

Anyways, while I was going by the Electronics Department (okay, I was in it. I needed a break from looking for a basket for above mentioned care package) I saw the 20th Anniversary Edition of "Dirty Dancing"! One of my fave movies (coming up in a blog in the new year)! I just had to get it (it was on sale)! :D

Name that Carol

Congratulations to no one! Nobody guessed last times carol! :D So,

Make mommy's life a song

Keep my daddy safe and strong
Let me have them all year long

was from the song "That's What I Want for Christmas". (Couldn't find a video)

Today's song

Above its sad and lowly plains
They bend on hovering wing
and ever over its Babel sounds

Joke of the Day

Unfortunately, there won't be a joke of the day since I couldn't find a very good one. :(

Redneck Christmas Songs

A play on Christmas songs! I have two favourites! :D

Rusty Chevrolet

DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW
IN MY RUSTY CHEVROLET
DOWN THE ROAD I GO
SLIDING ALL THE WAY
I NEED NEW PISTON RINGS
I NEED SOME NEW SNOW TIRES
MY CAR IS HELD TOGETHER
BY A PIECE OF CHICKEN WIRE

CHORUS:
RUST AND SMOKE THE HEATER'S BROKE
THE DOOR JUST BLEW AWAY
I LIGHT A MATCH TO SEE THE DASH
AND THEN I START TO PRAY
THE FRAME IS BENT THE MUFFLER WENT
THE RADIO IT'S OK
OH WHAT FUN IT IS TO DRIVE
THIS RUSTY CHEVROLET

I WENT TO THE IGA
TO GET SOME CHRISTMAS CHEER
I JUST PASSED UP MY LEFT FRONT TIRE
AND ITS GETTING HARD TO STEER
SKIDDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY
RIGHT PAST THE NEGAUNEE COPS
I HAD TO DRAG MY SWAMPERS
TO GET THE CAR TO STOP

(REPEAT CHORUS)

BOUNCING THROUGH THE SNOWDRIFTS
IN A BIG BLUE CLOUD OF SMOKE
PEOPLE LAUGH AS I DRIVE BY
I WONDER WHAT'S THE JOKE
I GOT TO GET TO SHOPKO
TO PICK UP THE LAYAWAY
CAUSE SANTA CLAUS IS COMING SOON
IN HIS BIG OLD RUSTY SLEIGH

(REPEAT CHORUS)

And

12 Redneck days of Christmas

Wow, somebody done been to the WalMart!
(Jeff) Man, this is the stuff I got for Christmas.
Well you cleaned up! Whadya git?

Five flannel shirts
Four big mud tires
Three shotgun shells
Two hunting dogs
... And some parts to a Mustang GT.

Hey Bubba, you got gypped -- there's 12 days to Christmas.
(Jeff) I know that, I got it covered. Look over in the corner.
That's yours too?
Yea!

Chorus:
Twelve-pack of Bud
Eleven Wrastling tickets
Ten o' Copenhagen
Nine years probation
Eight table dancers
Seven packs of Redman
Six cans of Spam
Five flannel shirts
Four big mud tires
Three shotgun shells
Two hunting dogs
... And some parts to a Mustang GT.

Man, this ain't normal Christmas presents!
No, they're redneck gifts!
Redneck gifts?
Yea, you know, like
if you buy your wife earrings that double as fishing lures.
Or, if you can burp the entire chorus of "Jingle Bells"
Perhaps if you think "The Nutcracker" is something you did off a high-dive.
Or, if you've ever misspelled something in Christmas lights.
Or, if you leave cold beer and pickled eggs for Santa Claus.

What's wrong with that?
I didn't say anything wrong with it...
It's hard to beat...

Chorus:
Twelve-pack of Bud
Eleven Wrastling tickets
Ten o' Copenhagen
Nine years probation
Eight table dancers
Seven packs of Redman
Six cans of Spam
Five flannel shirts
Four big mud tires
Three shotgun shells
Two hunting dogs
... And some parts to a Mustang GT.

Well, you can't really consider it a Christmas
'less you go down to the penitentiary and visit your mama.

You're not listenin' to me!
Get the car key outta your ear.
That's where the nine years probation comes in...
I'm gonna do it for ya again.
Now listen...

Chorus:
Twelve-pack of Bud
Eleven Wrastling tickets
Ten o' Copenhagen
Nine years probation
Eight table dancers
Seven packs of Redman
Six cans of Spam
Five flannel shirts
Four big mud tires
Three shotgun shells
Two hunting dogs
... And some parts to a Mustang GT.

Joke of the Day

Just before Christmas, there was an honest politician, a kind lawyer and Santa Claus traveling in a lift of a very posh hotel. Just before the doors opened they all noticed a £5 note lying on the floor. Which one picked it up??
Santa of course, the other two don't exist!

Freakin' Freezing!

Yesterday when I got to work the office was absolutely freezing! Guess what?... the furnaces broke down!

I had to sit all day with -40 temps (including windchill) outside and feel frozen inside. You know its is absolutely cold inside when you can see your breath! :( Anyways, we got someone to come into the office to fix it. And he came back today to do the finishing touches! :D

I was an icicle all day! It's a good we have a big industrial oven so I could stand in front of that to warm up!

tv.com

What the heck are they doing?! They made it worse! There is now way, way too much white! :( Anyways I don't want to get into a big long spiel. So I will be continuing to write my blogs here and I will keep posting a link there so you can stay up-to-date with me!

Joke of Day

As goofy George had a habit of giving his wife strange Christmas gifts, she was not surprised when he came one night carrying a tiny, branchless tree. Attached to a lone limb was a shotgun shell.

"All right, George," said his wife, truly stumped this time.
"What is it?"
"Why, honey." George smiled, "it's a cartridge in a bare tree."

Normalcy has Returned to work!

Well, yesterday was a lot better then Thursday. Most of the people who called on Thursday called yesterday and all of them were way nicer. I think Mark told Bill (boss) and Bill chewed out of the bigger companies. :D

Tonight I got signed up to sell liqour tickets at our Chamber of Commerce Christmas party. :D (I know the bartenders) So I'll be making some money that will be going straight to the "Lexi Needs a New Computer Fund". :D I'll let you know how that goes! :D

We are experiencing really cold weather here. -35 with the windchill. :( At least it is not snowing anymore. Hopefully, this weather will clear up soon. :)

Joke of the Day:

A 4-year-old boy was asked to give the meal blessing before Christmas dinner. The family members bowed their heads in expectation. He began his prayer, thanking God for all his friends, naming them one by one. Then he thanked God for Mommy, Daddy, brother, sister, Grandma, Grandpa, and all his aunts and uncles. Then he began to thank God for the food. He gave thanks for the turkey, the dressing, the fruit salad, the cranberry sauce, the pies, the cakes, even the Cool Whip.

Then he paused, and everyone waited--and waited. After a long silence, the young fellow looked up at his mother and asked, "If I thank God for the broccoli, won't he know that I'm lying?"

I Can't Help you Take it Up with My Boss

I swear today was rag on Lexi day. I was dreading picking up the phone whenever it rang.

I'd say about 2 out of ever 3 calls people were complaining. >:( It was either about: us closing down for two weeks at christmas time, why their item aren't ready yet, the price of past items.

My answer to each of these (in order listed): "I have no authority about that decision. Bill* is the person that you need to talk to." Then they'd ask for them and I'd tell them that he is working nights and that just opened a whole new can of worms.

"We were having some technical difficulties with our air compressor. We have got it fixed now but we are about three days behind. If you leave your name and number I will let Mark* know that you called and he will call you back with an approx. day he thinks your items will be ready." More complaining and then they would either sigh really loudly and give their name and phone number or hang up on me. (Mostly giving name and number)

"I cannot do anything about the price about the item. You will have to have that conversation with Bill. Unfortunately, he is working night sift this week. (Started to say that after that was a repeat question.) But if you leave your name and number I will pass the message on." More grumbling before they would give me their name and number.

One person actually yelled at me for not knowing what was going on with his items! :O No matter I have gotten over it. :D

On to something happy! :D

Name that Carol

Congrats to Proctor_Fox_Fan (Ashleigh) and RottieGirl/no1thinker (Claudette) for knowing that

"I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door,
that's the easy thing to do"
(P.S. I scared myself when I pasted this, the music started just as I clicked to paste!)

was from the song "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"! :D

Today's song:

"It's a yum-yummy world made for sweethearts
Take a walk with your favorite girl
It's a sugar date, what if spring is late
"

No hint this time but if you need one you can pm me over at tv.com.

Joke of the Day

A lady dropped her handbag in the bustle of holiday shopping. An honest, little boy noticed her drop the handbag, so he picked it up and returned it to her.The lady looked into her handbag and commented, "Hmm.... That's funny.

When I lost my bag there was a $20 bill in it. Now there are twenty $1bills." The boy quickly replied, "That's right, lady. The last time I found a purse, the owner didn't have any change for a reward."

Joke of the Day

In a small southern town there was a "Nativity Scene" that showed great skill and talent had gone into creating it. One small feature bothered a man passing through the town. The three wise men were wearing firemen's helmets.

Totally unable to come up with a reason or explanation, the man left. At a "Mini Mart" on the edge of town, he asked the lady behind the counter about the helmets. She exploded into a rage, yelling at the man, "You stupid Yankees never do read the Bible!" He assured her that he did, but simply couldn't recall anything about firemen in the Bible.

She jerked her Bible from behind the counter and ruffled through some pages, and finally jabbed her finger at a passage. Sticking it in my face she said "See, it says right here, the three wise man came from afar."
